Due to the limited backup battery supply of the Powermax (6 off AA nicad or dry cells) driving the Starlight 2000 sounder strobe we highly recommend that you purchase this additional 12 volt power supply box which contains a mains operating charging circuit and a 2.1 Amp hour battery which will provide mains fail backup for at least 24 hours and will ensure that the Starlight strobe operates and charges correctly. When this high capacity backup supply box is used the original PSU supplied in the powermax kit is not required as the system then operates from this instead.

Simply mount this new power supply near or remotely from the Powermax control panel and wire into the power input connections on the rear of the Powermax. Finally, ensure the positive and negative constant charge feeds to the starlight 2000 sounder are connected to this new supply directly to ensure good 12 volt operation and the only remaining connection is the negative sounder/siren trigger wire which of course still comes from the Powermax controller.
